His Excellency, the Zamfara State Executive Governor Hon. Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle MON (Shattiman Sakkwato) today visited the IDP camp at Unguwar Danbaba in Tsunami area of Gusau local government.
The Governor was saddened and disturbed by the resurgence of banditry activities that resulted in having an IDP Camp in Gusau.
Sympathising with the IDPs who are mostly from Rijiya Village of Gusau local government, the governor directed for the redeployment of more security personnel to the area to ensure normalcy returns before the victims can be allowed to return to their homes.
Matawalle assured them of his administration's continued protection of lives and properties of the citizens in the state.
He said although his administration inherited the security problem in the state, with the support and cooperation of the people, the situation has reduced to a minimal level.
He appealed to the people of the state to support the government in the provision of intelligence to security agencies in order to bring an end to the security challenges facing the state.
The Shattiman Sakkwato commended the Ministry for Humanitarian and Disaster Management for the promt action taken in the provision of food items, medicaments and bedding materials to the IDP camp.
Earlier Speaking, one of the IDP's leaders, Mallam Muhammadu Shehu expressed their happiness over the governor's visit and requested for redeployment of more security personnel to the affected communities to enable them return to their respective communities.
The visit was attended by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Bala Bello Maru, Head of Service, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe, Chief of Staff Government House, Col Bala Mande rtd, Deputy Chief of Staff Government House, Dr Bashir Mohammed Maru, PDP State Chairman, Alhaji Tukur Umar Danfulani Maikatako, Heads of Security agencies in the state, Commissioners and Senior government officials among others .
