The efforts of Zamfara State government and the wise approach of Governor Bello Matawalle is towards putting an end to insecurity challenges in the state is gradually yielding massive results.
Few years ago, Zamfara state was on the verge of annihilation. Blood flowed freely, and the then-governor once threatened to resign as the Chief Security Officer of the state.
Things were so bad that it seemed there would be no end in sight, but Governor Matawalle's strategic approach at ending insecurity in the state is earning him amazing reports from Nigerians and the good people of Zamfara.
One of those people who can no longer hide his joy at the latest development is this social media enthusiast, Yusuf Anka @ankaboy (on twitter).
Yusuf Anka in his post said; "A bandit group in the North of Tsafe has freed all the kidnapped victims including a lady who was taken a week ago. They were told to cater for themselves apparently because there was no means of communication for ransom demands and feeding them has also become difficult."
This report many observers see as a good news after the report of the kidnapping of
Kaya Students under Maradun Local Government Area of the State, few days ago.
The Governor had in a swift response declared a new measure of curfew in the State so as to enable the security agencies to monitor closely suspicious movements.
The State Security Council met and deliberated on the need for further measures and resolved to impose a curfew in all the 14 local government areas of the state, starting from Wednesday, 1st September, 2021.
Some of the indigenes of state attested to the facts that the present governor of the state, has been doing exploits in tacking the activities of bandits in the state that hitherto held sway. But, saying that the Governor of Zamfara State has done well would be an understatement. Also saying that he has indeed set worthy examples for other states tackling insecurity is stating the obvious.
As it is now, Zamfara State should indeed serve as an example for how to tackle insecurity in the country. The governor realized that politics has no place in the security of lives and properties and this was the strategy employed by the governor and the result is what we are seeing today.
As there continues to be success stories in the fight against banditry and insecurity in Zamfara state.
