Zamfara State Debt Rises To All Time High.



... Group Counsels Gov. Dauda Lawal Not To Mortgage the State


The Northern Economic Coalition for good governance group ( NECGG)have cautions Zamfara State governor Dauda Lawal to desist from throwing the State in to long term debt anarchy considering the multi billions of Naira secured by the  administration of His Excellency Dauda Lawal to execute some elephant projects in the State.


The secretary of the group Dr. Aminu Ibrahim (ACA) made the call in Kaduna during their quarterly meeting to Ex-ray the 19 Northern governors positive performances adding that, if care is not taken Zamfara State government will Suffer 40 years debt bondage or more looking at the huge amount of debt incurred by the administration of governor Dauda Lawal.


" We are none political organization, but Obligate to monitor and advice good governance in Northern region, that's why we find it necessary to advice Zamfara State governor Dauda Lawal to desist from indebting a poor State like Zamfara which Internally generated revenue IGR is not up to N250 million per month. 


"Base on our findings and  figures available at our disposal, Zamfara State government under His Excellency Dauda Lawal secured both local and foreign loan of 150 billon Naira withing his one year in office,  "Coalition lamented in their press briefing.


" Recently the  Zamfara State governor awarded the continuation Construction of Zamfara State Cargo Airport to  the tune of 62.8 billion Naira which I strongly believed that such amount can conviniently Construct 2 International Standard Airport in the Niger Delta region, "Said Hajara Liman the Coalition public relations Secretary.


The Coalition further worried about the  renovation of Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital Gusau at N8 billion Naira instead of the governor to use same amount to build  newly Constructed Health facilities.


Do you know that governor Dauda Lawal awarded the renovation of JB Yakubu Secretariat Gusau with the tune of 3 billion Naira the renovation that took the contractor just one week to finish in a poor State like Zamfara, " the Coalation asked.
