The Northwest All Progressives Congress (APC) Tinubu/Shettima Door-to-Door Support Group has reportedly raised concerns following an alleged closed-door meeting between Senator Abdul Aziz Yari and Senator Shehu Buba, the Bauchi State governorship candidate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP).
Sources said to be familiar with Senator Abdul Aziz Yari’s political camp claimed that the meeting lasted approximately two hours. According to the sources, Senator Shehu Buba has maintained a long-standing relationship with Senator Yari as a mining associate and political ally.
The same sources further alleged that, following the meeting, several sacks believed to contain funds were moved from the premises of Senator Yari’s Maitama residence into one of Senator Shehu Buba’s 18-seater Hummer buses, which reportedly had its number plate covered.
The allegations could not independently be verified at the time of publication.
The Convener of the Tinubu/Shettima Door-to-Door Support Group, Honourable Aminu Zarewa, has reportedly called on the ruling APC and its National Working Committee (NWC) to place Senator Yari under closer scrutiny over what he described as possible anti-party activities.
According to Zarewa, Senator Yari has previously been accused of maintaining contacts with opposition political figures and allegedly supporting opposition candidates as part of efforts linked to his reported ambition to become Senate President in 2027.
The allegations remain claims attributed to the sources and the support group, and no independent evidence establishing anti-party activity or the alleged transfer of funds has been presented in the account.
