As the second wave of covid-19 continues to spread across Nigeria, Gov Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state says his government is convert ready for the challenges ahead.
Officials handling the prevention of Corona Virus in Nigeria said the country has entered into the second Wave of the coronavirus infections.
In a press briefing last week Thursday,
the officials reported the spread of the virus pandemic across the state of the federation and warned against its rapid and deadly infection.
In his reaction to the report and warning,
Zamfara State Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle said he has built and equipped a befitting first Class isolation center with experts on standby to to respond to the challenges and being posed by the second Wave of the Coronavirus infections.
According to Gov. Matawalle, " My administration has rapidly responded to and prevented the spread of the first wave of the Virus, leading to an award for the achievements in handling and prevention of the infectious disease and will not take any chances in the prevention of the second wave of th covid-19 pandemic. This is that's why we put in place, all the necessary mechanisms and precautions to handle the situation as the case maybe. We built a befitting first class Isolation Centre with the state of the art equipment and facilities for the prevention and treatment of persons infected by the virus. I am therefore advising the good people of Zamfara to always Observe and respect all the COVID_ 19 Protocols prescribed by the Health experts."
A visit to the site of the Isolation Centre located at Damba, an outskirts of the capital city, Gusau, this medium learnt that, the Center which is Situated few Kilometers away from the state capital, is fully equipped with the World Class equipments capable of handling any infectious disease.
Recalled that, the number of COVID_ 19 cases detected in the Country within the past two weeks indicates an alarming increase, which signifies a second wave of the outbreak of the Corona virus.
In a statement by Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID_ 19, said the second wave of the outbreak of the covid-19has just began.
