Zamfara Gov Reception- Controversy Broke out Over 1 billion Naira Rented Crowd.




A controversy broke out over a whooping  sum of 1 billion Naira withdrawn from Zamfara  state-local government joint account for renting Crowd to welcome Gov Dauda Lawal Dare home after his foreign trip. 

A reliable source from the state ministry for local government who prepared anonymous due to security said the money which was intended for renting the Crowd could not be used for the purpose was diverted. The source further revealed that  only 200 million naira was for the rented crowd, while the remaining 800 million naira was duverted. 

He said there was a row amongst key lieutenants of the Gov, which later led to the exchange of blows.

The source further revealed that both the Commissioner  and Permanent Sec of the ministry had been complaining of the way local government funds are being released without commensurate jobs being executed.

To calm down the commissioner and Perm Sec, the Gov approved two weeks of foreign trips for each of them.

The reception, which ended up with a violent rally that led to a loss of 3 lives with scores of others wounded. 


According to reports, the reception and rally were organised the reception to counter following a 

 reception voluntarily organised by teeming supporters, friends, well wishers, and political associates of the former Gov and now Minister of state Defence Bello Mohammed Matawallen Maradun when he visited his hometown Maradun over the weekend. 

while encouraging the  rented PDP  supporters brought from the neighboring States of Katsina, Sokoto, and Kebbi to not bothered with the Appeal Court Judgement that declared Zamfara 2023 governor election as inconclusive,    Dauda Lawal Said that: his words, " If the Supreme court of Nigeria can passed a  judgement to the favour of someone with certificate forgery like Tinubu, then our mandate must be highly respected and protected by all means, " Dauda Lawal was qoated to have said.
