ZAMFARA GOVERNOR CONSTITUTES STATE PALLIATIVE COMMITTEE ON HARDSHIP

 




Zamfara state Governor Bello Mohammed Matawallen Maradun has constituted the state Relief Materials Distribution Committee to ease the economic hardships being faced by people in the state, following the recent measures imposed by his government to tackle insecurity.


A release by the Secretary to the State Government Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe Sardaunan Dan Isa, said the committee is part of measures to reduce the effects brought by the restrictions of vehiclar movements, closing down of markets and filling stations, shutting down of mobile phones networks, banning of transportation of foodstuff and livestock to, and out of the state and the black marketing of petroleum products.


The committee was given the mandate of working out modalities for the distribution of the relief materials, which include rice, maize, milllalet and guinea corn.


The committee which is to be headed by a former APC Governortorial Aspirant Alhaji Aminu Sani Jaji, with 35 other members was also mandated to set up sub-committees at local government level to ensure fair and equitable distribution of the enssencial commodities to particularly the less privileged at the grassroot.


Governor Matawalle has since his assumption of power, been adopting series of measures to tackle insecurity in the state.


An investigation conducted by Standard Voice Television in the state reveals that the measures taken by the government is yieding positive results as massive support is being given by the general public in all the nooks and crannies of the state.


The investigation futher revealed that bandits are now running out of the state to avert the ongoing onslaught by the military and other security operatives.


Reports from various local governments of the state and other parts of neighbouring states ofsokoto, Katsina and Niger Republic say bandits are now desperately searching for food and other means of livelihood.


Prayers in mosques and Islamiya schools in various parts of the state are also being offered in support of the government measures to tackle insecurity in the state.
